The startup Allbry is taking a stand for children's mental health. The digital tool offers all the functions needed to work preventively with psychosocial student health and currently has several municipalities and school groups as clients. When developing the Allbry service, they sought the assistance of Mårten Nilsson and SaaS Innova.
– The purpose of Allbry is to make it easier for students in Sweden to quickly get help when they need it. We knew how important the service could become for Sweden’s students, and Mårten is helping us turn our idea into a system that brings all the elements together, says Haris Sejdic, CTO of Allbry.
Allbry is a complete student health platform for schools that enables more efficient communication between students and student health services. While Allbry was still in the development process of the platform, in the so-called Minimal Viable Product phase, Mårten Nilsson and SaaS Innova were hired to structure the technical organization in terms of development processes and architecture, with the goal of completing a scalable platform with all the required functions that comply with all regulations.
– We had a functioning basic version but several elements that were becoming bottlenecks. To move forward and ensure that the development work was carried out as efficiently as possible, Mårten stepped in and reorganized our entire technical department. He has extensive knowledge of project management and workflow processes, in addition to the purely technical aspects where he is also a highly valuable asset to us.
– 'It was also clear from the start that his focus was always on our business and product. As a startup in a technical development phase, it’s easy to get stuck in a silo mentality where the customer and the business are pushed to the background. Unlike other IT consultants, Mårten has consistently ensured that we stayed focused on the product in relation to the business throughout the journey.
In addition to Mårten's role as project manager, SaaS Innova's development team, consisting of coders, designers, and testers in India, has been highly involved in the work on Allbry's platform.
– They possess incredibly high technical expertise, at a fraction of the cost of the same solution in Sweden. They quickly learned our product and constantly provide their own suggestions for new features and adjustments that can increase the value for our customers and, ultimately, our business value. Having this combination has been invaluable for us.
Today, Allbry has clients among Sweden's municipalities and school groups, with the platform reaching over 9,500 students. Allbry has had an almost 100% conversion rate from pilot testers to customers.
– We have a well-functioning platform where we continuously work on adding new features that we see our clients and their students are requesting. With the goal of helping as many children and young people as possible, it’s clear that SaaS Innova should continue to be a part of this effort. They are a partner with high technical expertise combined with broad knowledge of our product and business, as well as how we can keep improving, says Haris Sejdic.
With the help of chat and video calls, students can receive assistance faster than with physical meetings, while the same strict rules of confidentiality and privacy apply.
Visiting the school’s physical counselor can be difficult for many reasons. The student might have to miss classes and breaks to get an appointment. It can also be a cumbersome process to find contact information and take the step to actually book a physical meeting. Many students find this process stressful and anxiety-inducing in itself.
With Allbry, the student has the opportunity to take the first step in a calm and comfortable way by contacting their student health team online. Since many young people feel their worst during evenings and weekends, it’s important to offer the possibility to book and/or have a conversation outside of school hours.
By offering chat, video calls, and anonymization, Allbry caters to three types of users: those who want to chat anonymously, those who want to show their name but only chat, and those who prefer a more personal video call. This approach also allows students who are shy to take the first step and seek help.
